Tanzanite Over the Moon Engagement Ring

Where do I start with this one… I’ve been so incredibly fortunate to have friends love and support my work. This engagement ring was made for one of the most important people in my life. I met Kayla when she was 13 or so and I was in my twenties; her older brother and sister in law, whom I worked with, brought her over to have a craft day (we made decoupage picture frames). Years and so many craft projects later she is grown, an epic musician and just an all around fantastic human. While living in Hungary completing a Fulbright Program her long time boyfriend contacted me to make this ring. Y’all I’ve made a number of exciting rings but this just filled my heart to.the.brim.

He had a tanzanite from when his family lived in Africa (he’s pretty wonderful in his own right) and wanted to use that as the center stone.

While visiting her in Hungary he proposed as they set up a Christmas tree!
