New Heirloom, From a Pendant to a Ring

Often we inherit jewelry from our loved ones and while we love the sentiment and the history, we may not always love the style or in this case, the type of jewelry. My client, Melissa, was lucky enough to get this abalone and marcasite stunner from her memaw. While the colorful shell and overall design are gorgeous it wasn’t going to work for her as a necklace… so we turned it into a ring. The original pendant is entirely intact. I created a bezel and prong setting to basically set the pendant into as if it were one solid stone. Now this treasure is not collecting dust in the back of a jewelry box
